Crack Ship Competitions
(This is pretty much only for My Little Pony, so if you’re not into that, you should probably skedaddle.)
Do you ship it? If you show me why, I’ll reward you with porn! XD But seriously, I find a lot of ships that, to me, don’t make a lot of sense. But some of them are quite common, which means that there has to be some reason that makes sense to a lot of people, so I want to get some insight into that. And hey, if it’s really good, I might start shipping it myself.
I’ll open a competition for a given ship. If you ship it, send me something that explains how the relationship came to be. I’ll decide which does the best job and announce the winner. The reward for everyone (who ships it, anyway) will be a photoset of Rule 34 featuring that pairing (limited by how much content I can find).
Rules
- Entries must be asked or submitted.
- If you ask from your Tumblr account, I will respond privately to confirm that I’ve received your entry. If you ask anonymously, I will not confirm because I don’t want to clog my blog with entries. If you submit, I will send you an ask to confirm, if you have asks enabled. (If you do not have them enabled, please send me an ask along with the submission so I can respond to that ask to confirm.)
- Entries must present some sort of narrative. Analysis or commentary does not qualify. It is not enough to explain why a relationship might form; it must explain how it does form in some alternative universe.
- Since I will be posting the winner, the standard rules for my blog also apply. Entries must not violate the rules in the “Absolutely Not” section. The rules in other sections may be violated, but this will reduce the chances of winning.
- Entries may be in any format (short story, comic, etc.) and may be SFW or NSFW.
- The development of the relationship can play a small or large part in the entire work. If it plays only a small part, I would appreciate it if you explained where to find it.
- You can send an unlimited number of entries. But please keep it to a reasonable number. In particularly bad cases, I reserve the right to reject all entries from a particular person.
- Entries must have been published somewhere before, even if you made it just for the competition. (Sharing on Google Docs/Drive with the “Public” or “Anyone with the link” option counts.)
- The work being entered does not have to be yours.
