Adding my own story to this mix:

Working at college computer lab as The Helpdesk. An older man comes up asking me for help to find “the real internet”. I go over to his computer and open the browser, which automatically loads the school’s homepage. The man, irritated by that says “That’s the not real internet.” After some creative questioning, I reasoned that he wanted to be taken to the Yahoo homepage, which was the homepage he used at home.

I guess everything outside of Yahoo is the “fake internet”.

Regarding #8, wireless charging technology isn’t that far away!

This is more programming related than art related, but it’s a fantastic article written by a female programmer detailing a LOT of issues with sexism in general, and how many attempts at correcting gender bias actually make it worse, especially in the technology sector.

My favorite quote is probably this paragraph:

Do not punish the men simply for being here. ‘Male privilege’ is a way to say ‘you are guilty because you don’t have boobs, feel ashamed, even if you did nothing wrong’, and I’ve wasted too much of my time trying to defend good guys from it.
