This blog, if it’s not a porn blog, is for people who want to get off, frankly. So I’m not sure of the value of making this distinction here. But I am open to it. What tags would you suggest?
I could rather easily distinguish between pornography and the other categories you mention (sexual contact vs. none), but sorting out the rest of them (pinups vs. “erotic art”, for example) is less clear. How would you make these distinctions?
When you say I’m “emphasizing a stereotype”, two questions come to mind: What stereotype? That bronies/furries are sexually perverted or that people who draw non-pornographic adult art are perverted? as well as What do you mean by “emphasizing,” and how am I doing it?
First off, I am acknowledging myself as a clopper. (Of course, I’m not super-public about it.) Yes, I do get off to the stuff I post, whether you call it porn or not. That’s not really an issue for me.
I didn’t really address the issue of people distinguishing between different types of adult artwork, because I don’t think anyone really cares. Is that a problem? Maybe. The stereotype seems to be that bronies or furries are sexually perverted, and I assume someone’s less likely to be sexually attracted if that person draws/enjoys only non-pornographic adult art than if the person draws/enjoys porn.
But even if you argue that some people who draw non-pornographic adult art aren’t doing it for sexual reasons, critics can still say adult artwork is a problem. (The main thing I see for the brony fanbase is that children can find it; that’s a much bigger discussion topic on my blog.)

What the fuck? I had no idea we were going to start SHAMING artists who draw and tag there adult stuff now?
I know you want the Brony fandom to be clean and all but this is going a LITTLE to far!
Yeah, I don’t get this weird, creepy obsession with tracking people’s sexuality.
WHO CARES what porn other people like? Especially if it’s kept separated? That was a rhetorical question, but the answer happens to be creepy, judgmental assholes.
In re theburningdonut and nevernoesbest: Please read the links to understand my purpose in posting this. It’s an issue I’ve been trying to deal with.
Besides, it probably isn’t even the musician, judging from the paltry results of searching #assertivefluttershynsfw.

OK SIGNAL BOOST BECAUSE THIS IS IMPORTANT
Apparently this person has been taking Rule 34 Pony art and reposting it without a source AND replacing the artist’s watermark with their own water mark.
And according to my sources they’ve PROBABLY been making money out of it, which I’m not sure about, BUT STILL
PLEASE GET THIS OUT THERE!!
I’m not sure what can be done about the webpage but at least let’s try to report their Tumblr blog.
PLEASE REBLOG
THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION!
yo get this around! *again sorry for nsfw but this isnt fair to the artists*
Stealing art isn’t cool, mkay? Neither is posting pictures of people you don’t know, nor have permission from, mkay?

my six year old niece asked me what bronies were today. She was listening to the Equestria Girls song (The Katy Perry parody one) and she was asking why Pinkie said “Bronies hang out too!” So I told her that bronies were older guys who watch MLP. Her face practically lit up. “Really?!” “Yup,” I…
i like how this conveniently ignores all the rape jokes, porn, and the fact that a lot of those plushies are made for the express purpose of fucking them
conveniently? why would a six year old even need to know about that stuff? furthermore, yeah there are some fucked up plushies, but 99.99% percent of them aren’t even like that. So yeah, why don’t we tell the six year old about a loud minority in a large and diverse fanbase and make it seem like that minority is the whole. or lets tell the six year old about rape because bronies are evil! the last thing I need is for her to become some frothing at the mouth SJW activist!
I like how this ignorant, frothing faux feminist is trying to force the “rape culture” that is more a creation of their own overactive imagination than anything observable to any outside viewer into the life of A LITTLE GIRL.
Unlike any of these “feminists” that are the reason feminism has such a bad name as a movement, I’m actually immersed in the fandom, and as a woman, I have never experienced any of the alleged “misogyny” and “rape culture” they try so pathetically hard to project onto a single fan base. They also cling desperately to this bogus idea that anyone is, in any way, “stealing” the show from it’s “intended audience”, while failing to take into account that the woman responsible for the entire franchise even existing (Bonnie Zacherle) has stated that she had originally developed My Little Pony as a series that both boys and girls could enjoy. It was Hasbro that focused the marketing strictly to girls. And, of course, they flail around helplessly and either spew vulgarities, or just take to repeating themselves like a broken record when it is clearly laid out for them that their claims are a gigantic, steaming load of bullshit.
The statement that anything approaching even 1% of all pony plushies are made for sexual reasons is utter bullshit. I have seen a whopping TWO in the entire time that I’ve been part of this fan base, and one of them was the infamous Lyra plush that apparently no one remembers that literally EVERYONE made fun of, and thought it was completely fucking absurd. I guess people kind of forgot that happened, since it doesn’t agree with their version of reality where males watching a cartoon was somehow setting the progress of women in society back by centuries.
Meanwhile, I hear nothing from any of these rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth, piss-poor excuses for “activists” about rape as a topic anywhere else. Not in any other fan bases, on any other sites, or even concerning anyone outside of Tumblr. To top it off, they actually fucking try to negate the good done by this fan base, while they themselves fail to donate even ONE FUCKING CENT towards helping anyone other than THEMSELVES.
I openly welcome freelovefuture to read anything contained in this tag, though I doubt she would bother to, as the default response of the tumblr “feminist” is to ignore anything that discredits them in favor of monotonously droning on about how said people are “trash”, “disgusting”, or are automatically that ubiquitous “cishet white male” that’s apparently responsible for everything wrong with the world, even when they screw up the wings on their eyeliner. Oh, and let’s not forget that they also include a healthy portion of body shaming by insinuating that every last member of an extremely large, diverse fan base shares the exact same obese body type, facial hair grooming habits, and the same taste in headwear.
I have never once seen a single one of these people provide anything valid and unbiased to lend credibility to their claims. Instead, we receive bogus stories about four year olds that - despite not even being old enough to comprehend the nature of (and thus be “traumatized by”) sexual interactions - were left at a computer unattended, and stumbled upon pony porn. Do we even have to fucking get into the fact of a four year old even being able to operate a computer to the extent of using search engines, and spelling words correctly to do so? Not to mention that a four year old shouldn’t be left unattended online in the first place. Fuck, a four year old shouldn’t be left unattended ANYWHERE.
To make matters worse, when people in the fan base put forth genuine effort to make sure that mature content is not able to be found accidentally, they then move the goal post, crying that the fandom is trying to “hide how bad they are”. It literally does not matter what the fan base does in the eyes of these people, because they will constantly keep pushing that goal post as far to the edges of eternity as they have to, just so they can have an excuse to keep belittling others just for that little shot in the arm of “superiority”. Safe Search Wrap Up has been doing an amazing job clearing out Google’s Safe Search of anything that not only shouldn’t show up when searching for ponies, but for multiple fandoms. They are actually putting forth an effort to do something worthwhile, while these so-called “feminists” continue to do nothing more than inflate each others’ egos, and act self-righteous about accomplishing absolutely nothing.
All the while, no one bats an eyelash when even deviantArt is literally crawling with fetish porn that hasn’t been properly labeled. Don’t believe me? Go search for literally any fucking cartoon. What’s worse is that, half the time, these same people are themselves drawing sexualized content for cartoon fandoms (which, by the way, even includes Pinkiepony). Even more hilarious is that a lot of these people genuinely don’t seem to realize that a very large chunk of the artists producing mature MLP content are women. They then have the unmitigated gall to claim that women don’t do this in male-dominated fandoms, in spite of the fact that the fan base for a popular first-person-shooter about mercenaries fighting over land ownership is practically dominated by women, with it’s very own image board, and even naked player models, and naked models for use in Garry’s Mod, and Source Filmmaker. I defy any of these “feminists” to search for anything related to Team Fortress 2, and not stumble upon truckloads of gay porn.
It is high fucking time that these people pull their heads out of their asses, and finally see the daylight. How many kids have to be bullied before these people think to themselves, “Hey, maybe I shouldn’t be perpetuating negative stereotypes of other people, or reinforcing obsolete gender roles”?
What the fuck is it going to take before people fucking realize that enjoying a cartoon (whether they expected to or not) does not magically mold a person into someone else’s charicature? There is no difference between the people you find in a fan base, and the people you encounter all around you on a daily basis. Any random sampling of people, from anywhere in the entire fucking world, is going to contain a few people that aren’t exactly the most pleasant motherfuckers on the planet. No matter where you look, you will still find racists. You will still find bigotry. That random sampling could come from your school, your neighborhood, or even a church - it wouldn’t fucking matter. People are people, no matter where you go. However, any group of people is still made up of individual thinking, feeling human beings, no matter how hard you try to scream at the moon that any of them are “all the same”.
Anyone that has to strip the humanity from other people to see them as anything other than people are the worst kind of people there are.
I always hate to just reblog Tena’s stuff but she always says it so much better than I can
In reply to this post:
I’m pretty sure you already know my stance on the subject.
Like I said, it’s for anyone to answer. (I was really hoping for some people other than those who already participated before.) But leaving that aside, I honestly don’t know your answers to the questions. I’ll explain, but I’m not going to force you to respond. (You know, maybe I should start a separate blog for these discussions.)
- Are sexual/”Rule 34” depictions of Lauren Faust’s pony avatar morally acceptabe? Why or why not?
Okay, I know your answer to this, anyway. - What right to people have to create “fan work” with characters created by others? How does this apply to sexual depictions (“Rule 34”)?
I ask this because practically all fan work of “Friendship is Magic” (sexual or not) is based on characters created by Lauren Faust. I think a lot of people don’t have a problem with this. Why not? What about other types of OCs, such as furry characters that aren’t fursonas. That leads me to the third question… - Are there special considerations for avatars (such as fursonas and pony “OCs”) as opposed to other fictional characters? Why or why not?
Again, the characters in FiM (or the main six, at the very least) are essentially Faust’s OCs. So, is there some special consideration for her avatar, an alternative representation of herself, as well as other people’s avatars? It seems that the answer for you is yes. Why? - What about creating and sharing a drawn depiction of the sort [a nude person such as a celebrity], or any other depiction that doesn’t involve a breach of privacy?
This one’s really for notaclopbanana, but I was hoping for your opinion on this.
(This is for a “general” audience, so I’ll give some background information.) A few days ago I got into a debate over the question: Are sexual/“Rule 34” depictions of Lauren Faust’s pony avatar morally acceptabe? It resulted in way too much flak that I’m just recovering from.
It’s mostly died down, but recently I came across another post relevant to this issue.
It raises more questions than it answers, and I think the questions are the same ones that I tried raising earlier in the debate. These seem to have gone unanswered, so I’ll ask them again. I invite anyone who’s interested to respond.
I’d like to make it clear that I don’t have a firm stance on this issue. I’ve tried to respond to all sides as neutrally (reasonably) as possible, and I hope that by starting off with these questions I’ll be able to do that better.
- The cardinal question: Are sexual/“Rule 34” depictions of Lauren Faust’s pony avatar morally acceptabe? Why or why not?
- What right to people have to create “fan work” with characters created by others? How does this apply to sexual depictions (“Rule 34”)?
- Storytellers create characters that may rightfully be called “OCs” (original characters), but often they are not alternative representations of themselves (“avatars,” as I like to call them). Are there special considerations for avatars (such as fursonas and pony “OCs”) as opposed to other fictional characters? Why or why not?
- It is clear that taking nude pictures of a person (such as a celebrity) is an invasion of privacy, and therefore wrong. What about creating and sharing a drawn depiction of the sort, or any other depiction that doesn’t involve a breach of privacy?
(If you decide to use the Tumblr answer feature as opposed to reblogging, I will respond with a post tagged with your blog name [as it appears in your blog URL]. Please check the tag if you’re interested in seeing my response.)
This was inspired by something that recently happened to a friend. Might considering posting my source of inspiration for B if they still do not see the error of their ways after being informed by various people including the artist themselves. People. OTL
If anyone identifies with B please understand and change? I’m sure you’re not a jerk inside but just behaving so due to ignorance/convenience/pride/whatever. Do you really want to continue?Relevant to the Fausticorn OC debate I was having here earlier.
((Oh my god yes. I had this same talk on Twitter not long ago about some girl stealing someone’s fursona but feeling OK about it because she “gave credit” to the maker.
My example “So if I go and steal your car, it’s OK and not stealing so long as, when stopped by the police, I tell them it belongs to you and give you full credit for paying for it?” ))
(For the record.)
