On an irrelevant note, i don’t like the idea of defining a “true brony.” It invokes another fallacy—“No true scotsman,” where the claim is that you cannot be associated with a certain group unless you posses a certain, usually specific, quality. The fallacy comes in the fact that no one can really define what is “true [group x]” beyond the basics. Example, say a Briton doesn’t like tea. would it be logically correct to say s/he is not a true brit because s/he doesn’t like tea?Even though the person’s entire lineage lies in Great britain, she can’t really be british because she doesn’t like tea. In this example, the definition of “British” is so basic and specific that defining it on any finer points would be a logical fallacy. That said, “brony” is a different case, as it has such a broad and varying definition based on the person attempting to define it. While on the other end of the spectrum, you still can’t define a “true” brony because no one can provide an accurate, all encompasing definition. You can’t even base it on watching the show, sincethere are fans that are only in it for the fan content. You can’t even base it on Liking ponies at ALL because one could use watching the show as a definition, so someone is a “brony” if they’ve watched the show and followed it for a bit, regardless of whether or not they like ponies at all anymore
