Tag: Brony

First off, I am acknowledging myself as a clopper. (Of course, I’m not super-public about it.) Yes, I do get off to the stuff I post, whether you call it porn or not. That’s not really an issue for me.

I didn’t really address the issue of people distinguishing between different types of adult artwork, because I don’t think anyone really cares. Is that a problem? Maybe. The stereotype seems to be that bronies or furries are sexually perverted, and I assume someone’s less likely to be sexually attracted if that person draws/enjoys only non-pornographic adult art than if the person draws/enjoys porn.

But even if you argue that some people who draw non-pornographic adult art aren’t doing it for sexual reasons, critics can still say adult artwork is a problem. (The main thing I see for the brony fanbase is that children can find it; that’s a much bigger discussion topic on my blog.)

Or not. It might not actually be the musician. (See assertivefluttershy versus assertive-fluttershy.)

(Related posts: First substantial post, extended discussion)

What the fuck? I had no idea we were going to start SHAMING artists who draw and tag there adult stuff now?

I know you want the Brony fandom to be clean and all but this is going a LITTLE to far!

Yeah, I don’t get this weird, creepy obsession with tracking people’s sexuality.

WHO CARES what porn other people like? Especially if it’s kept separated? That was a rhetorical question, but the answer happens to be creepy, judgmental assholes.

In re theburningdonut and nevernoesbest: Please read the links to understand my purpose in posting this. It’s an issue I’ve been trying to deal with.

Besides, it probably isn’t even the musician, judging from the paltry results of searching #assertivefluttershynsfw.

I love how whoever edited this has circled “I didn’t create it for little girls” and ignored right next to it where she goes on to say “I created it for little girls and their parents

I know you’re desperate to excuse your gross fandom stuff but come on

Conveniently, you ignore the part right after parents.

You know, where it says “including male parents.” Oh, and don’t forget where she says that fans of animation who are adults and have no children can like it as well.

No, we’ll just ignore those parts in favor of the parts we like.

In re dragondicks: I pretty much agree with shadowhoof, but you’re right, Faust’s intentions aren’t an excuse for bad things the adult fandom does. However, a lot of stuff that people say is bad (or “gross,” to use your term) isn’t bad (especially as long as it’s kept out of public view).

I don’t mean to come across as rude either, but I will NEVER believe that racism towards white people doesn’t exist or that sexism against men doesn’t exist. Since we’re not talking about racism here I’ll leave that alone, but sexism is defined AS:

Sexism or gender discrimination is prejudice or discrimination based on a person’s sex or gender.

It doesn’t not say exclusively for women. Just because women experience it more does not mean that it does not exist for men. How is hating someone JUST BECAUSE they are male not sexism? For no other reason other than the fact they are male?

Sexist attitudes may stem from traditional stereotypes of gender roles, and may include the belief that a person of one sex is intrinsically superior to a person of the other

Stereotypes and gender roles exist for men AND women. And there are plenty of radfemists that think snuffing out the lives of men and creating a world full of women because men are worthless actually DO exist. That is more than being prejudice or ‘just venting’. That’s flat out sexism.

Saying that a man has to be strong and the leader of the family, calling men weak for showing emotion and claiming they are not allowed to cry, etc. And no it is not OTHER MEN that instilled this idea.

For instance I recently heard my co worker talking about how her brother is doing nothing with his life because he doesn’t play sports. And real men HAVE to play at least one sport. There are many phrases that consist of “real men and women must do so and so” those are sexist remarks.

There’s this new trend around this site that includes generalizing all white males (and white people in general but i digress) and making statements that they are scum that need to kill themselves. How are people going to pass that off as ‘just being prejudice it sucks but its not sexism tho’ why are people so afraid to say that sexism exists for men? Like why does it MATTER? If it is blatant hate against a gender just because THEY ARE THEIR GENDER it is sexist hands down.

Not to mention that trans men probably experience the most sexism out of all other men. How are people going to tell me that it doesn’t exist? People literally want all men to die. How is that not sexist?

I’ve taken sociology classes as well (once in highschool once in college) and i was NEVER TAUGHT that sexism against men doesn’t exist. If that happened to me I’d stand up and have a few words with my professor.

If you think men don’t also experience in the work place THAT IS SO WRONG. Men are expected to have short hair and be clean shaven or else they are labelled as “hobos” or “potheads” and even “bums”. This is all based on appearance. Just having LONG HAIR and by long I mean not even shoulder length or just barely shoulder length they can be out a job.

Men can also be raped, abused, and emotionally manipulated. ANYONE can. No one is safe from that. If you can tell me that sexual violence doesn’t actually happen to men and provide proof, then I will believe that sexism for men doesn’t exist.

Yes I know that sexism was born from men oppressing women. Yes I know that women experience it more often. However that does not erase the other gender that also suffers. It also discludes trans men - because trans men ARE MEN and they experience sexism. Sorry but I feel strongly and I won’t ever have my mind changed.

Reblogging here too because if, “Men shouldn’t watch a show for little girls” isn’t sexist against men, I don’t know what is.

my six year old niece asked me what bronies were today. She was listening to the Equestria Girls song (The Katy Perry parody one) and she was asking why Pinkie said “Bronies hang out too!” So I told her that bronies were older guys who watch MLP. Her face practically lit up. “Really?!” “Yup,” I…

i like how this conveniently ignores all the rape jokes, porn, and the fact that a lot of those plushies are made for the express purpose of fucking them

conveniently? why would a six year old even need to know about that stuff? furthermore, yeah there are some fucked up plushies, but 99.99% percent of them aren’t even like that. So yeah, why don’t we tell the six year old about a loud minority in a large and diverse fanbase and make it seem like that minority is the whole. or lets tell the six year old about rape because bronies are evil! the last thing I need is for her to become some frothing at the mouth SJW activist!

I like how this ignorant, frothing faux feminist is trying to force the “rape culture” that is more a creation of their own overactive imagination than anything observable to any outside viewer into the life of A LITTLE GIRL.

Unlike any of these “feminists” that are the reason feminism has such a bad name as a movement, I’m actually immersed in the fandom, and as a woman, I have never experienced any of the alleged “misogyny” and “rape culture” they try so pathetically hard to project onto a single fan base.  They also cling desperately to this bogus idea that anyone is, in any way, “stealing” the show from it’s “intended audience”, while failing to take into account that the woman responsible for the entire franchise even existing (Bonnie Zacherle) has stated that she had originally developed My Little Pony as a series that both boys and girls could enjoy.  It was Hasbro that focused the marketing strictly to girls.  And, of course, they flail around helplessly and either spew vulgarities, or just take to repeating themselves like a broken record when it is clearly laid out for them that their claims are a gigantic, steaming load of bullshit.

The statement that anything approaching even 1% of all pony plushies are made for sexual reasons is utter bullshit.  I have seen a whopping TWO in the entire time that I’ve been part of this fan base, and one of them was the infamous Lyra plush that apparently no one remembers that literally EVERYONE made fun of, and thought it was completely fucking absurd.  I guess people kind of forgot that happened, since it doesn’t agree with their version of reality where males watching a cartoon was somehow setting the progress of women in society back by centuries.

Meanwhile, I hear nothing from any of these rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth, piss-poor excuses for “activists” about rape as a topic anywhere else.  Not in any other fan bases, on any other sites, or even concerning anyone outside of Tumblr.  To top it off, they actually fucking try to negate the good done by this fan base, while they themselves fail to donate even ONE FUCKING CENT towards helping anyone other than THEMSELVES.

I openly welcome freelovefuture to read anything contained in this tag, though I doubt she would bother to, as the default response of the tumblr “feminist” is to ignore anything that discredits them in favor of monotonously droning on about how said people are “trash”, “disgusting”, or are automatically that ubiquitous “cishet white male” that’s apparently responsible for everything wrong with the world, even when they screw up the wings on their eyeliner.  Oh, and let’s not forget that they also include a healthy portion of body shaming by insinuating that every last member of an extremely large, diverse fan base shares the exact same obese body type, facial hair grooming habits, and the same taste in headwear.

I have never once seen a single one of these people provide anything valid and unbiased to lend credibility to their claims.  Instead, we receive bogus stories about four year olds that - despite not even being old enough to comprehend the nature of (and thus be “traumatized by”) sexual interactions - were left at a computer unattended, and stumbled upon pony porn.  Do we even have to fucking get into the fact of a four year old even being able to operate a computer to the extent of using search engines, and spelling words correctly to do so?  Not to mention that a four year old shouldn’t be left unattended online in the first place.  Fuck, a four year old shouldn’t be left unattended ANYWHERE.

To make matters worse, when people in the fan base put forth genuine effort to make sure that mature content is not able to be found accidentally, they then move the goal post, crying that the fandom is trying to “hide how bad they are”.  It literally does not matter what the fan base does in the eyes of these people, because they will constantly keep pushing that goal post as far to the edges of eternity as they have to, just so they can have an excuse to keep belittling others just for that little shot in the arm of “superiority”.  Safe Search Wrap Up has been doing an amazing job clearing out Google’s Safe Search of anything that not only shouldn’t show up when searching for ponies, but for multiple fandoms.  They are actually putting forth an effort to do something worthwhile, while these so-called “feminists” continue to do nothing more than inflate each others’ egos, and act self-righteous about accomplishing absolutely nothing.

All the while, no one bats an eyelash when even deviantArt is literally crawling with fetish porn that hasn’t been properly labeled.  Don’t believe me?  Go search for literally any fucking cartoon.  What’s worse is that, half the time, these same people are themselves drawing sexualized content for cartoon fandoms (which, by the way, even includes Pinkiepony).  Even more hilarious is that a lot of these people genuinely don’t seem to realize that a very large chunk of the artists producing mature MLP content are women.  They then have the unmitigated gall to claim that women don’t do this in male-dominated fandoms, in spite of the fact that the fan base for a popular first-person-shooter about mercenaries fighting over land ownership is practically dominated by women, with it’s very own image board, and even naked player models, and naked models for use in Garry’s Mod, and Source Filmmaker.  I defy any of these “feminists” to search for anything related to Team Fortress 2, and not stumble upon truckloads of gay porn.

It is high fucking time that these people pull their heads out of their asses, and finally see the daylight.  How many kids have to be bullied before these people think to themselves, “Hey, maybe I shouldn’t be perpetuating negative stereotypes of other people, or reinforcing obsolete gender roles”?

What the fuck is it going to take before people fucking realize that enjoying a cartoon (whether they expected to or not) does not magically mold a person into someone else’s charicature?  There is no difference between the people you find in a fan base, and the people you encounter all around you on a daily basis.  Any random sampling of people, from anywhere in the entire fucking world, is going to contain a few people that aren’t exactly the most pleasant motherfuckers on the planet.  No matter where you look, you will still find racists.  You will still find bigotry.  That random sampling could come from your school, your neighborhood, or even a church - it wouldn’t fucking matter.  People are people, no matter where you go.  However, any group of people is still made up of individual thinking, feeling human beings, no matter how hard you try to scream at the moon that any of them are “all the same”.

Anyone that has to strip the humanity from other people to see them as anything other than people are the worst kind of people there are.

I always hate to just reblog Tena’s stuff but she always says it so much better than I can

Doctor Who cosplay by ShinePawPony

That cutie mark… That looks like the Han character “語”, which means “speech; language” (more information). Why would someone have that as a cutie mark?

Looks like I have my answer: The cutie mark is the Japanese word for language, I love language with Japanese being my favourite [:)]

Ugh! It frustrates me when people refer to these characters as Japanese, because, while they are used in Japanese (with different pronunciations), they actually come from Chinese. (Incidentally, they are also used in Korean, though much less often than in Japanese.)

stop. calling yourselves bronies. just because you like the same cartoon and fandom shit that they do. You don’t have to. It’s not the scarlet letter. Nobody is branding it onto your foreheads as soon as you realize you love ponies. You can love whatever you want without conforming to any particular social group.

It does not mean “person who likes my little pony” it’s a stupid meme name created by 4chan to mean “person who likes my little pony but identifies as so male that they feel insecure about it if they can’t insert a bro in there.”

That’s like if someone came up with “girlocks” to describe little girls who like Sherlock Holmes but were worried doing so made them too masculine. Or like if bald people who liked homestuck got together and called themselves “domestucks” because it was really important that you knew they were also bald or we had the term “whitans” for white people who like “Attack on Titan” or I don’t know fucking “handwiches” for people who really love sandwiches and also own hands and think those two unrelated things make them so unique that they get angry if you tell them how arbitrary and ridiculous it sounds

Or if people who liked Star Trek called themselves Trekkies. Or if people who liked Doctor Who called themselves Whovians.

They’re cutesy fandom identifiers. Get over yourself and let people call themselves what they want.

You know, a lot of hate between bronies and non-bronies would stop if everyone could just mind their own business. No, no one has to call themselves a brony, and a lot of people don’t - I, for one, will (metaphorically) bite people when they try to call me a brony (same with people trying to call me a whovian, or a furry, I’m just not a fan of fandom labels personally). But that does not mean I go around telling other people to stop using an identifier that they enjoy.

Generally, people use the term to identify that they not only like the show, but also participate in the fandom, which means they have some level of vague knowledge of the extended fanon, which opens up more avenues for people to discuss things. People who identify as ‘bronies’ rather than just fans of the show can probably discuss their favorite artists, their favorite fan characters and writers and theories*.

Why do you care that other people want to use the term brony to identify themselves? What business is it of yours - who made you the gatekeeper of fandom identifiers? Not only is your idea of the term brony incorrect (it’s not as exclusive as ‘only male fans of MLP’, that has been debunked a hundred times by other ladies associating with the term, no matter how many times the media wants to be exclusionary), you are missed (either willingly or because you didn’t actually research this) the fact that basic-brony-trash in their post - other fandoms do, in fact, have unique names.

Your entire post, honestly, just comes off as this side of straight up hate, and telling people off. There are better, less vicious ways to reassure people they don’t have to use a label if they don’t want to, ways that can accomplish this without shitting on people who do want to use the label.

*This is not to say people who don’t use the label have no idea about the extended fanon what so ever. But saying, “I’m a brony” generally implies you do upfront, where as “Yes, I like the new MLP!” requires you to parse through wether or not you’ve read any extended fanon.
